Nurses
Seeking out a career that best fits your personality can be challenging for many people, although for some it is as natural as taking their next breath. Some people enjoy taking care of others and for that sort of desire, there are a few choices like nursing that can turn out to be very fulfilling and profitable careers. Who exactly are these Florence nightingales who appear to have such compassion for their fellow man that they choose a career where they are at someone else’s beck and call? Who are these individuals that welcome you as you enter a medical facility because you are experiencing a pain in your stomach that just won’t quit? Who are these perfect strangers that you come face to face with after being wheeled into an emergency room bay that convince you that everything will be alright.
Nurses are generally compassionate human beings that see an immediate need and find themselves drawn to it. You will seldom find a nurse who is not willing to go the extra mile for the patient who happens to be under their charge. If you are unfortunate enough to have to spend time in a hospital room, you will be treated by a nurse who will check your vitals, draw your blood and fluff your pillow, all at the same time. While your greatest contact with nurses can be in a hospital environment, nurses can also be found in walk in clinics, dentist offices and your family doctors offices. Anywhere, sick people are gathered, nurses are actively doing whatever they can to help them get them more comfortable during their time of need, administering medications and good cheer whenever necessary.
Although most people who venture into the nursing profession do so because they have a passion for taking care of others, it helps that it can be a fairly lucrative career. Because of the need to take care of the sick and injured people in this world, nurses are in high demand, making their level of compensation a decent one. So how do you become a nurse? Depending on the level of nursing you hope to achieve, it can take up to four years, where you could easily be working and going to school at the same time. With a career that demands millions of individuals and a possibility of rather decent wages, it stands to reason that nursing schools can be found in every city and county.
